Read on for the details … MacOSX commercial support
iPad commercial support
App Size reduction We have put significant efforts in reducing the size of application packages generated by ELIPS Studio on all platforms. Classes in our framework that are unused by your application are now removed at build time. Some other platform-specific optimizations have been done leading to a reduction in size of up to 40%.
More native goodies in your Lists
- Accessory button : disclosure indicator, detail disclosure button, checkmark - Editing mode : delete, insert, reorder items - Item separation line - New supported events : accessoryButtonTap, itemInserted, itemDeleted, itemMoved
New Simulator Our device simulator has undergone major rework and is now unified between Mac and Windows versions. It features a simplified interface from which the device “chrome” has been dropped to save screen real-estate and a separate window in which tabs (“perspectives”) are available with hardware features for each platform (like keys, screen orientation …). To find out more about using the new simulator, please read this tutorial: “Using the ELIPS Studio Simulator”.
New default settings and project templates
A default settings panel: it regroups all the settings that will likely not change across your different applications (e.g. vendor name, signing certificates, etc.). These default settings can be overridden in project-specific settings. This new panel is located in the “Window>Preferences..” Flash Builder menu. You can learn more about this new feature in this tutorial: “ELIPS Studio Project Settings Tutorial”. A set of new project templates: With theses, you can achieve in few clicks a “Hello World” application for any of the supported mobile devices. You can use such templates as a basis for your new ELIPS Studio projects. To learn more about project templates, read this tutorial: “Hello World Tutorial: Using new project templates” |

Our Mac version has now reached a satisfactory level of quality and is no longer beta. This means that from now on –if you’re a Mac user- you will be able to use ELIPS Studio full-featured for Free with banner ads inserted in your apps; or purchase a commercial license unlocking the ads and giving you access to our dedicated support.
We have also brought support for the iPad to commercial level. If you are an Indie license holder, this is now an extra platform available for purchase. For Pro or Premium licensees, this means that we now provide dedicated support for your iPad apps development projects. Free license users can of course use it too.
In order to simplify the first steps when setting up ELIPS Studio for the first time and creating a new application, we have added:
