In a recent survey to its developer community, OpenPlug emphasized the need for an integrated Mobile Payment solution to help accelerate the deployment of local billing in mobile applications

The Mobile Payment business opportunity is huge: Mobile Payment Transactions are expected to reach $200bn by 2012 (Juniper Research). Still payment via mobile phone is very complex to implement due to the numerous channels (through SMS, Operator billing, Mobile banking or via contactless technologies). Moreover, each local markets comes with its own set of actors and regulations.

In such a context, we at OpenPlug decided to run a survey about integrated Mobile Payment in order to gather the interest of the ELIPS Studio developer community. The response of the community is crystal clear: The demand for Mobile Payment solution is tremendous.
